The Classes Grow

Apparently I partied too hard this weekend, because I seriously did not want to get up and go to class this morning. And when I did, I had a terrible time trying to stay awake! Part of it was that the room was really warm, so I think we were all nodding off. Anyway, we spent the first 45 minutes talking about World War II, which just carries on our tradition of turning our casual "what did you do last night/over the weekend" icebreaker into a long, off-topic thing where at least we're using our Italian. Then we did some exercises with sequences of tenses, which are pretty easy to follow especially when you have the diagram. This one worksheet she gave us had us conjugating verbs in a story... a story which happened to be straight out of the book, where the verbs were already conjugated. Meanwhile on the recto was the diagram we were all "consulting." Amazingly, we did rather well on that activity.

We actually got three new students (from California, Germany, and Russia), including the first person I've met at the school who's younger than me! Nearly everyone here seems to have already left school, and most of the students are much older. Nevertheless, they all seem really nice, and I bet we'll have a lot of fun in class.

We also got two new students in my other class, from Turkey and Australia! (I love this meeting people from everywhere thing.) The girl from Turkey is also younger than me, so lo and behold it seems a couple of high school students actually do go here. Once we had finished our introductions, we proceeded to have a discussion about fashion, which was hilarious because I had absolutely nothing to contribute. I love listening to my new Australian classmate speak- so far everyone here has had more or less the same accent, but she has a strong Australian one that's really neat to listen to.

Having no other plans, I went back to my room to relax a bit and do my homework. I was just sort of done for the day!

I won't promise that this is the last sunrise picture!
