So Begins the Week of Solitude

Well, I'm officially on my own now. The couple who owns the place came up shortly after Isabel left to clean up and get their rooms ready for their next inhabitants. Rosa also told me that my new roommates (I think she said both girls) will arrive next Sunday, so it looks like I get to be master of the house for a week.

(That's two Les Mis song references, for anyone who's counting.)

I am excited to meet them and share some fun memories together. It's just too bad they aren't coming tomorrow instead, because now I'll only get two weeks with them instead of three. Still, that's plenty of time to become friends! However, this time it will actually be a first contact situation for all of us, unlike last time where Bart and Isabel had already been living here for several weeks (with another roommate) and gotten to know each other- so this is both an exciting and dangerous prospect. I'm optimistic, though. I haven't had a bad roommate situation yet.

I was planning to go out and explore some more today, and maybe do some shopping (I still need an Italy/Rome shirt of some sort), but that never happened. I was waiting out the warmest part of the day, but then I ended up reading one of the books I bought last week. I love getting in the zone when I'm reading in another language- after a while I don't even notice it isn't English. And, as happens when I have free time to read, I totally lost track of time. So, I guess it gives me something to do tomorrow. It's a lot harder coming up with good things to do while I am flying solo!

My family seems to think I'm not doing enough exciting things, so I guess I'll have to figure out how to step it up a notch. This week will be hard because it's no fun to go adventuring alone, but hopefully something cool will cross my path. At least next week I can post roommate stories!
